CHEERS FOR STOPPING BY TWILL STUDIO!
G'day, my name is Baker. I created Twill Studio to put an umbrella over my wedding and family work.
The name comes from combining my first & middle names. I also liked it because its the name of a tightly woven, durable fabric. I'll let you make of that what you will.
Documentary and portrait photography on film isn't just a trend for me. I've been carrying a 35mm camera with me everyday for almost a decade now shooting life as it opens itself up to me.
As a result I've been shortlisted in photo and art prizes here in Australia and abroad and have been lucky enough to exhibit in the National Portrait Gallery, Tweed Regional Gallery and Wollongong Gallery to name a few.
Shooting predominantly 35mm and medium format photography. I'm obsessed with the alchemy of it all, how a moment can be sealed in suspended silver. It's magic! I also love printing in the darkroom. Seeing an image through from start to finish without the use of computers is admittedly, a masochistic yet rewarding part of it all.
When I'm not obsessing over photography, you'll find me on the beach with Pebble (pictured) or spinning records at Frank's Wild Years still with a camera within reach(did I mention I DJ'd weddings for a 10+ years) .
